It’s always an exciting time in February, knowing the football season is just around the corner and pre-season training has started. We completed a four week programme before Christmas and now are back in training on Mondays and Wednesdays at all senior levels - A Grade, Reserves and U18s

We know that we have to get our players stronger and fitter than ever before. We still have some time before our first hit out to get the boys fitter than they are at the moment. We believe this will give us sufficient match practice to tackle last year's premiers Strathmore in Round 1 at Lebanon Reserve.

It has been an extremely hard period for the club trying to recruit the right people and players to our great club. We are very excited and pleased with our player list for the upcoming season; the players we have contracted are very keen and eager to play for the Aberfeldie Football Club and to put themselves up against the best the competition can offer. It is a very important and exciting period for our club, and our players are looking forward to the challenge that awaits them. We cannot wait to see action in April.

Our schedule of senior practice matches (all away venues) has now been confirmed and at this stage they are:

Sat. March 17th COBRAM Vs. Aberfeldie

Sun. March 25th ST. MARY'S Vs. Aberfeldie (at Kardinia Park)

SENIOR FOOTBALL REGISTRATION/ Payment of Fees for 2012

Like the Junior Football section we welcome the directive from the EDFL to process all registrations and payments for exisiting/ returning players in Under 18s/Reserves and Seniors online via PayPal, VISA or Mastercard*

Full details will be announced by Mid-March and is being administered through the Sporting Pulse system. At this stage the fee structure will remain the same as last year. For Under 18 players the fee is $300.00 and for Reserves and A-Grade players the fee is $400.00 and we shall contact every parent and player when this becomes live on our website.

If you are a player (or parent of a player) please take note that the new system being implemented will require the full fee payment to be paid up-front and this must be done prior to the start of the season or you shall not be permitted to play (ie. the system will not allow you to be rolled over into the Senior database for 2012 unless your fee has been recorded). Whilst this is a new system we shall be endeavouring to ensure that this is streamlined and user-friendly for all concerned.

* All new players to the club need to fill in an official EDFL Transfer/Registration form and then once approved by their former club they will be able to pay their fees online the same as everyone else. Transfer forms can be obtained by contacting the Club Secretary Geoff Brown, who is normally in attendance at all training sessions.

Note: Transfers need to be processed online by the Club Secretary who is also the Senior Registrar and these cannot be lodged until commencement of Transfers on February 1st.
