PARENT INFORMATION SHEET 2010 Further suggested reading for all Abers parents
The aim of every junior football club should be to ensure that every player and their parents enjoy the experience of playing and watching their team perform. The improvements of skills and abilities of the players must be a major factor in the role of the coaches; sportsmanship and appropriate behaviour are amongst the aims of the club and must be encouraged.
We are indeed fortunate at Abers in that we have excellent coaches, who, in themselves, set high standards in these areas. Unfortunately this season is now but a happy memory, but in general, the large number of players who return to Abers each year and the significant numbers of new players and families who arrive to become part of the Abers family, is very pleasing.
Whilst we all like to see all our kids win a premiership, Aberfeldie has long held the belief that it is to the benefit of all that we field balanced teams in all divisions and to allow them to come along together as a team over the course of the season. The benefit will be the level of experience in each team. This helps the newer players find their feet in the competitive on-field action and allows a greater number experienced players in each team - thereby spreading the workload.
Abers sees great benefit to maintain team stability - it helps to develop good camaraderie within teams; and allows coaches to work on the team aspects of the side. Go Abers in 2011!
