Senior Football 2010
GAME OVER!
Well here we are at the tail end of the 2010 Season and unfortunately that's it for this year! How fast has it gone? With many individual highlights, the season has been a hard and disappointing one for the Under 18s and Seniors, although the Reserves boys made it to the finals only to lose the first Semi Final match to Doutta Stars by 34 points, effectively ending their season.
Senior Coach Dean Rioli announced his intention to step down at the end of the season, citing a heavy workload. Dean has been a wonderful mentor to younger players at this club and we wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.
Already proactive, the Senior Football Committee has begun an exhaustive review process and as a result we are currently processing applications for coaching positions for Season 2011. We anticipate that an announcement will be forthcoming once suitable candidates have been interviewed and selected.
In the interim, we are also seeking Trainers for the Senior Football section and in particular preference would be given to a qualified person or persons able to assist us with our Under 18 team on Saturday mornings during the season. If interested please drop us an email in care of the address on our Home Page under the 'Contact Us' link.
We also take this time acknowledge the support of SPORTSBET
as an official sponsor of the club for Season 2010.
Our practice match schedule this year started with a game against Sale (above) at the Rosedale ground on March 13 and we travelled to play St. Mary's down in Geelong at Newcomb on March 27. This and a few intra-club matches at training gave us we believe, sufficient match practice to tackle some of the EDFL powerhouse teams who played us in the home and away series this year.
