This is the official website of the Aberfeldie Sports Club. Based at Clifton Park in the heart of the West Essendon area, sporting activities at Abers include the gentleman's game of Cricket during the summer months and Australian Rules Football during the winter months.
As a club we believe our prime responsibility is to endeavour to teach our players (of all age groups) to work as a team member to achieve a common goal. To experience the highs and lows that team sports brings and to participate in a safe, friendly and disciplined environment. The objective of managing the various sporting activities we offer, includes every effort geared towards promoting healthy recreation for our youth and to assist in developing players to Senior Level.
The original Abers website made its debut in cyberspace in 2002 and was totally revamped in early 2005. The continued development, hosting and maintenance of the new site have been donated to the club by Business Systems Online. If you find any links that are not working etc. please contact the Site Administrator david@bso.net.au.
Please direct any feedback relating to the content of the site to the Club Secretary who is the Website Coordinator. (See Contact Us)
In an effort to alert members to the latest up to date news and information from in and around the club please send your request email to the Club Secretary and remember to include your full name and a valid email address and you will receive our monthly electronic newsletter, "Aberfeldie News" which is published about the middle of each month.
We are very proud to acknowledge the wonderful support that we receive from our club sponsors. Without their help and dedication, we could not provide many of the activities that are currently available to all of our members.
Some club members and residents have expressed a concern re. the recent spate of vandalism done to the Clifton Park playing surface, and in particular to the perimteter fencing. The local police are well aware of the situation and despite rumours to the contrary, the pole fencing that has been erected immediately to the left of the clubrooms and all the way to the goal square is a temporary measure by Moonee Valley Council whilst the new paneling for the existing picket fence is on back order. ASC President Arthur Jacobs has been assured by the Mayor, Cr. Paul Giuliano that the fencing is only temporary and will not replace the current picket fence.
